  • Game Plan - Intinerary

    A really fun day scheduled for October 5th, 2019

    Stage 1 - Hydrocut

    Rendezvous: Glasgow Parking Lot

     

    Course maps will be available in our 2019 Guidebook and on Trailforks by Mid September 2019

     

    Group 1 - Beginners and nature lovers

    Group 2 - Intermediate (Fast)

    Group 3 - Advanced (Super Fast)

     

    Fee: None

    Ride start: 9:30 am (if you are meeting us there please target to arrive around 9:15 am at the latest)

    Ride end: 10:30am – 11:00am

    Depart Hydrocut: 11:15

     

    The drive to Puslinch should take approximately 30 minutes (regular traffic).

     

    Notes:

    • Please make sure you have your signed waivers available if you did not submit electronically. We will have some on hand if required.
    • Please make sure you have your bike gear - Helmets are mandatory, shoes, gloves, bike, water bottle/backpack etc 
    • We will have water, fresh fruit, and protein bars at each trail - just ask one the Bikes and Beers team if you can't find them.

    Stage 2 - Puslinch

    Rendezvous: ON Route rest/gas station located 26 km East of Kitchener off the 401 highway approximately 5 minutes past Cambridge. When exiting highway veer right and there is a rest/picnic area located on the right-hand side;

     

    Course map will be made available in the 2019 guidebook and on Trailforks by mid-September 2019.

     

    Group 1 - Beginners and nature lovers

    Group 2 - Intermediate and Advanced (Fast and Super Fast)

     

    Fee: None

    Ride start: 12:00pm

    Ride end: 1:00pm – 1:30pm

     

    The drive to Kelso should take approximately 20-30 minutes (regular traffic)

     

    Notes:

    • Lunch at riders discretion. Within the ON Route food court there is a Burger King, Tim Hortons, Pizza Pizza, Starbucks and a Teriyaki Experience or there are numerous restaurants in Milton where Kelso is located. Feel free to also pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic at Puslinch.
    • We will have water, fresh fruit, and protein bars at each trail - just ask one the Bikes and Beers team if you can't find them.

    Stage 3 - Kelso Conservation Area

    The Grande Finale

    Rendezvous: Summit entrance located on the North Side of Steeles just West of Bell School Line

     

    Course map will be made available in the 2019 guidebook and on Trailforks by mid September 2019.

     

    Fee: $6.50

    Ride Start: 3:45pm

    Ride End: 4:45pm – 5:15pm

     

    Notes:

    We will have water, fresh fruit, and protein bars at each trail - just ask one the Bikes and Beers team if you can't find them.

    BBQ and Prizes

    Now the fun part :-)

    After all that hard work, water drinking, cliff bar eating it is time for some real nutrition. We are pleased to let everyone know that we will be hosting our event dinner at the Black Swan Pub serving great food, great prizes, and a few crafty beers to quench your thirst.

     

    Location: Black Swan Pub located at 4040 Palladium Way, Burlington, ON L7M 0V6

     

    Notes:

    • Menu: Pasta, Salads, Garlic bread
    • Everyone will get a challenge T-shirt to remember the day.
    • Prizes will be given out for all sorts of reasons - you have to show up to find out what they will be. Stay tuned we are looking to have a photo contest with all sorts of crazy categories and prizes.

    An event for everyone

    This is not a Race!

    Everyone is welcome to attend this challenge - this is not a race!

    • We will have up to three different groups (Beginner, Intermediate, Fast). 
    • Each group will have its own course designed for them based on skills and abilities. 
    • All the leaders can amend the routes as appropriate based on the riding group.
    • Remember the biggest goal for the day is to simply have a lot of fun and complete the challenge!
    • We will be making a charitable donation this year to Food Allergies of Canada with some of the proceeds for this event.
