A beautiful Saturday morning! 24 degrees, some sun with light cloud coverage and a little bit of a breeze…great day for a ride!
The Puslinch trails are located just behind the ONroute gas/rest station (South side) of the 401 highway in between Cambride and Guelph.
There are 2 main access points:
- one is directly from the ONroute rest area (which is rather handy)
- the other is off Wellington Road 32 just South of the 401
Just a note that if you are traveling West along the 401 you will need to go past the trails and double back to gain access.
*Bonus: no cost to ride the trails!
The trail system has grown considerably over the past 5 years with trails for all skill levels. Either entrance will give you access to some nice trails: “Getting Loose”, “Lunacy”, “Twisted”, “Siesta”, “the Pine Loop” and “Toms Twists” that meander through sections of Pine trees coupled with tight/twisty turns, smooth flowing downhills (light grade) and some moderate climbs…great for warming up the legs!
The only drawbacks from the trails that I encountered were some consistent vehicle traffic noise coming in from the 401 and that the trails were not marked/identified very well. I would recommend downloading map from “Trailforks” on to your phone so that you can access between trail heads.
We did not ride any of the Black Diamond trails but plan to do so over the next couple of weeks and I will post a review after we tackle these!
Overall a good ride experience and I would recommend for newbies and experienced riders to give these trails a go!
